My summer is going to be completely booked up!! But I'm coming to a city near YOU most likely, so I'll be sure to spare time for those close friends who I see so rarely...my stops are: Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Banff, Vancouver (maybe Seattle?) and then back home to Montreal. FIVE out of those 6 places I'm visiting, I have never gone to in my life, so it'll be nice to see what the other cities in beautiful Canada have to offer. My summer has started off great and I intend to end it the exact same way. This visit to the west coast has been several years in the making, but if you keep putting things off, they'll never happen. I'm leaving for this trip at the beginnig of August, so tomorrow marks the first day of my last month of summer in Montreal, so I'm hoping I'll get a lot done.

I'm definitely not bored of Montreal, in fact, I'm going to miss this place so much when I'm gone. In this past week, I've gone to the old port at least 3 times already. I was just there today for this body works exibit where they basically show the insides of the human body. A lot of the manicans looked pretty disgusting, and I nearly vomited on 4 different occasions.

Lately it's been work, and home then random outings with friends here and there. But I'm trying my best to take full advantage of having the opportunity of spending my summer in Montreal. This year, I definitely won't take my good fortune for granted. The month of July should be a little bit less hectic, but I'm looking forward to celebrating my THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY with my boyfriend! Exciting indeed! Well, there's lots to look forward to, bye everyone! Hope you all have wonderful and safe summers as well!

Niagara Falls blog

So since my leave of absence from Xanga after my discovery of facebook,I've decided to revisit for a short while to describe myincredible trip Niagara Falls this past weekend as per requested by avery special sister dear to my heart...NEV! This one's for you...

Insteadof boring you with details, I thought I'd describe my favorite momentsof the trip and number them from 1-10, in no particular order becausethere was just too many amazing moments to count.

10. Fear Factory:So it was 1:30 in the morning and after a long day of sight seeing, wedecided to do it. The pamphlet read that over 70, 000 hadchickened out and that freaked  me out already. So once weentered, the guy at the front desk was acting very calm and I wasasking a million questions and to each question he'd reply to me in thesame  monotone voice...I don't know if it was just him...or he hadto put on an act to work there...but gahhh...he was definitely noteasing my discomfort. We entered all six of us in a single file and wewere put in complete DARK!! No...our eyes didn't adjust to the darknessor anything, we just had to follow this  very small red lightwhich appeared as if from nowhere. We were told that if we wanted tochicken out all we had to do was scream "Nightmares!" and i guess thelights would turn on. We braved the entire experience. The scares werepretty crazy...and once we got out, we were pretty relieved, we had agood laugh about it. Francis's facial expression speaks for itself.

9. Our wonderful last night dinner. The girls came up with the idea for everyone to get dressed up and eatat a fancy restaurant since it was kind of my birthday trip at the sametime. At one point, we had spent so much money that we were like "let'sjust eat at a mcdonalds or something..." Obviously I wasn't toothrilled at that idea since the whole trip was centered around myturning 22 on the 22nd, and I realized that we were pretty far off myactual birthday, but I still wanted it to be a reason to celebrate. Inthe end...we found a beautiful steakhouse at the casino and had awonderful waitress. The food was excellent and I'm a very picky personwith eating out, and I enjoyed the whole experience. Conversation thatnight was incredibly fascinating as well. To top it off, Dee-Dee hadasked them to give me a birthday brownie with ice cream on it and theygave me a sparkler!! I've never gotten one of those in a restaurantbefore!! I gotta say, I absoloutely loved the dinner. It was a greatway to cap off our Niagara Falls trip.

8. Just the girls: This was a very small detail, but I absoloutelyloved the part of the trip when the girls did their own thing and leftthe guys to sleep in the hotel room. We had just arrived and hadchecked in and everything and were ready to go out to eat, but I guessthe drive took a lot out of the guys, so they all stayed in. So thegirls took the van and drove around. We saw the falls and we werefreaking out already...because it finally hit us that we arrived. Thegirls ended up going to T.G.I Fridays to pick up some food to go so wecould bring it back to the hotel for everyone to eat. Whilewe were waiting for the food, we bought some smoothies which wereso yummy!

7. The FALLS!!!!! We saw themin all it's splendor as we got on board the world famous maidof mist ride. We got to take the boat to both the American falls aswell as the Horseshoe falls. Being right in the middle of the Horseshoefalls was incredible. It was something that words could not even comeclose to describe. It's just water falling all around you withsuch force that it's almost scary, but beautiful all at the same time. The weather was absoloutely gorgeous so being at the foot of thefalls was refreshing.

6. The wax museum...eversince "House of Wax", wax sculptures had always freaked me out. Thefront entrance alone was an entire display of action stars in their ownparticular movie scene. Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones, Angelina Joliin tomb raider and Brendan Frasier in The Mummy. All of them were solifelike. As we entered we saw everyone from Nicole Kidman in MoulinRouge to Harry Potter. Some were better than others...but I liked allof them. My favorite was Eddie Murphy, he looked like the real deal.

5. The weather theforecast said that it would rain all weekend, and then I was told itwould be nice, so I was torn as to how the trip would go. Right beforewe started driving, we said a little prayer in the car, praying forpretty weather. It was raining when we had left, and then once wearrived, we had gorgeous weather the entire weekend! It was like 35°Cor something like that and the sun was beaming down on us the entiretime. On our way home, once we passed Ottawa, it started raining hardagain. Talk about perfect timing...

4.  The Swimming ourhotel had a swimming pool and we were pretty sure that we'd have notime to swim, but after each long day, we'd go down to the pool, relaxin the hot tub...go back in the pool, then back into the hot tub (whichwe figured was probably bad for us), and then we'd go upstairs to getready for the evening. It was my first time going swimming this entiresummer! I loved it. The weather was even beautiful enough for us to goswimming in the outdoor pool as well.

3. Right across the street from our hotel were outlet malls!!!They had so many stores to choose from....we split up into couples andeach girl had their own bag carrier...the guys didn't mind though, hehe. Anyways, we used what was left of our trip money on some prettyclothes and Francis bought me some earrings from Guess whichconveniently had a "G" on them. It was shopping!!! Need I say more?

2. Skylon TowerWe took the ride up the tallest building in Niagara Falls and saw theactual Falls from way up in the sky. It was kind of cold outside, butwe walked around the entire tower which took a total of...I'd say aminute? hehe, it wasn't that big to walk around, but the view wasamazing. We saw it at night, so the illumination of the falls was stillgoing on, it looked absoloutely beautiful. This happened on our lastnight, so I'm really happy that we got to see the falls up close, andalso from a distance. I couldn't have asked for a more amazing way tosee them.

1. Quality Time with friends and boyfriendI never realized how little time I get to spend time with my boyfrienduntil I'm with him for an entire weekend. It was so nice to be with himfor more than a day. I even teared up a bit when we dropped him backoff in Ottawa. Long distance relationships suck, but at least we havethose rare moments where every moment is taken in and we enjoy eachothers' company that much more. The fact that we got to do that inbeautiful Niagara Falls was just a bonus. My girls I see everyday, but this trip made us closer...I'm sure they understand why. And interms of their boyfriends...well, it was definitely an opportunity toget to know them better. As many attractions as we saw, and beautifulsites that were surrounding us, it was the company that I enjoyed themost. This trip was only amazing because of them.

Cheers!

It was one of those masses that I truly enjoyed and couldn't stop smiling. Here's why:

Priest: Do you know anyone who is really holy?

Kid: You are?

Priest: Oh (taken aback), I try to be! Thanks though, you see me later and I'll give you the money...

***

Priest: Who else is holy? Are your parents holy?

Kid: No, they're not, but God is!

***

Priest: How does a person become holy?

Kid: Holy Water?

I find kids have the best answers for everything! General Assembly was awesome today, the speaker was great and I saw so many people who I haven't seen in a while. My favorite part of the night was when I had asked Macey where my cousin was.

Gill: So, where's Dan-Dan?

Macey: NO! We're not done yet!!!

It's nice to see people again...Currently working on making myself more available to my friends...I'm trying to be less busy, if that's even possible. So far so good! Oh, and on a sidenote, first SFC girls household was a success! Good food. BYE!

TORONTO TRIP!

Here's an overview of my vacation for those who were wondering where I disappeared to over the past week:

Good times at the cousins place! My little cousins are so cute, I love hanging out with them because they really know how to have a good time...never a dull moment with these kids...

IMGP4543

(even though they all look bored right now, they're just exhausted from all that playing...hehe...he...)

So on Friday, after a wonderful week with the little ones, my parents left me in Toronto to fend for myself. I met up with Alli and Kathleen so we could experience the whole "clubbing" scene that Toronto offered. The first night was good, we went to District and had surprisingly few problems reaching the club and relatively minimal complications with getting in as well. One time, I got hit by this guy who was flailing around trying to resist the security guard who was pushing him toward the back exit, I was knocked off balance, but quickly composed myself trying not to look too disheveled. I turn around to see Alli who had experienced the same bombardment, but was knocked onto the ground and sitting flat on her butt while people were trying to help her up. I was concerned at first, but saw that she was laughing. We all found it funny. Then we went to eat with some of Kathleen's friends and headed back to the hotel which concluded our first night in the estranged city.

04

The following day, we got up at around noonish so that we could do a little bit of shopping. We didn't buy too much because we had very little cash to spare, but we picked up a lot of food that we brought back to the hotel room. We munched on some chicken while watching "Never Been Kissed", a movie that I love, yet fell asleep during because of the exhaustion that overtook me from all that walking around during the day. Good thing I got that sleep, because Saturday night clubbing would be incredibly tiresome.

10

Saturday night was...wow! so complicated. First of all the cab drivers all night were so annoying! The one that drove us at the club made it seem like he was doing us a favor when he dropped us off 5 blocks away from the club. We walked a pretty long way to get there. When we arrived at the club not all of us could get in so we went to alternate clubs. Alli and I ended up staying together at a place called Suite, and both of us left early and waited outside in the cold for so long. Getting a cab was so difficult because they wouldn't bring us anywhere within a 9 block radius. It was hard just getting to the meeting place where we were going to eat afterwards. It was pretty cold and there was a lot of waiting around. The one saving grace was getting to eat my general tao chicken out in the freezing cold because it was warming me up. It was so good!

06

So to conclude this little trip, we were all pretty satisfied with the end result. Not everything went exactly our way, but we spent a pleasant couple of days together and the weather was absoloutely beautiful the whole visit. We were really lucky to be so close to the Eaton's center too. Awww...I already miss Toronto, but at the same time, I can't wait to do more travelling this year...

'Til next trip...

I can't believe I just saw a concert!! a friend was trying to get rid of a spare ticket, and I was basically filling a spot. Good thing too, because that concert was AMAZING! I'm glad I went.

IMGP4356

So, we stationed ourselves right behind the sound guys and we got to see the set list of Switchfoot! I only recognized 2 or 3 songs on it, but the encore was "Only Hope" which I learned how to play on the piano a couple of years ago. So while he was singing only hope, the fire alarm went off...everyone in the crowd just ignored it because we wanted to hear him finish the song. When the concert was finally over, we walked outside and there were a bunch of fire trucks along the street. My reaction was "Oh...so I guess there really was a fire? Only Hope was so worth it though!!"

There were So many good moments in the evening, like during the Switchfoot performance, watching the asian guy stress out over how many intsruments he'd have to play at a time, or when I went up to the guitarist from Copeland and asked him to sign CJ and Brian's CD and make it out to them too...haha so "outgames" (word of the night)...along with 'Placenta'? Anyways, went out, got a bite to eat, had a deep conversation about Power Rangers and whether or not the guys from Copeland choreographed their simultaneous bobbing...It was a really good night all together (except for when the waitress kept flirting with my date...)

So, I'm off to Toronto tomorrow right after my dentist appointment. I'm Going to be there for about a week. What sucks is that I don't get to go to my last CLP!! I really wanted to finish it with everyone that I started it with. But right now, I need to give my undivided attention to my family. It's so rare that we're all available at the same time and It's our first trip in over a year!! Exciting!!
